
![]() | Marie C. Donnelly is the actual Director of Resources and Communication at the European Commission, in the Employment and Social Affairs Directorate General. She is responsible of the financial and human strategies planning, of the design and implementation of communication policies and of the informatics support for all activities of the DG. Marie Donnelly started her career at the Commission at the Directorate General for Enterprise in the area of Industrial policy in Pharmaceuticals - Human and veterinary medicinal products. Then she was the Head of the DG Equality for women and men in charged of the Community Framework Strategy and of the Legislation on equal treatment and non discrimination.
After this experience she worked at the EFS with two different positions. She first started as Head of Unit for EQUAL Community Initiative and she was responsible for an effective and timely management of the EQUAL programmes, including negotiations with Accession Countries. Then she was transferred to the unit for ESF Policy, Coordination, Employment and Local Development. Here she was in charge of the development of policy options for the reform of the ESF and the Structural Funds and of the policy for employment development within the European Employment Strategy, building on existing Commission initiatives and experience.
Before joining the Commission, Marie Donnelly also worked as Industry Group Director at the Federation of Irish Chemical Industries in Dublin in Ireland. |
