EMN and MFC, together with the European Investment Bank Institute (EIBI), organised the Workshop on Regulations and laws for microfinance in the EU: Current situation and opportunities for improvement, within the framework of the First European Microfinance Day.

The objective of the roundtable was threefold: to give an overview of the legal framework for microfinance activities in EU countries; to provide information on the process for promoting a specific legal framework; and to discuss the impact of the legal framework on the development of the microfinance sector, understand whether there is a need and scope for regulatory action at national or EU level and identify the opportunities for improvement.
