MORATTI Letizia

Mrs Moratti was born in Milan and was able, in her career, to combine institutional tasks to the leadership of important industrial groups. Counted among the most well-known European entrepreneurs, she developed activities in the different fields of finance, insurance, communications, new media and risk management. Specifically in the sectors of insurance brokerage and new economy she founded and directed major international companies. She successively served as president of RAI, a state owned television company and News Corp Europe. In 2003, she became Minister of Education, University and Scientific Research. She is engaged in various humanitarian and social assistance activities and is Ambassador for the UNDCP (UN Office on Drugs and Crimes). She became the new Mayor of Milan in June 2006.
