Policy Dialogue: Bridging the investment gap in social care and infrastructure. What role for the post-2020 EU budget?

Event Debate

The European Policy Centre and the European Investment Bank (EIB) are organising a policy dialogue to discuss the investment gap in social care and infrastructure and the role of the post-2020 EU budget in addressing this gap.

The aim is to discuss how EU funds and instruments can provide innovative pathways to finance the increasing demand for social care and infrastructure and make them fit for the changing needs and expectations of citizens in Europe. The discussion will focus on the European Commission’s recent proposal for the next Multi-annual Financial Framework, how it will enable the EU, the EIB, social providers and European societies at large to deliver on their social objectives and what needs to be done to unlock the potential of the EU budget in the social sector. A varied set of speakers, including EU policy-makers, EIB and EFSI representatives, experts and civil society actors will share their views on the current policy environment for investment in social care and infrastructure and the way forward. Refreshments will be served at the end of the event.
