Community-based Solutions for social Entrepreneurs' Challenges

Publication Good practices

MakeSense is an open project built by a community of people interested in social entrepreneurship, innovation, web applications and IT solutions that was created in January 2011 in France. This article studies the community-based solutions to social entrepreneurship. Their innovative online platform gathers social entrepreneurs and links them to people wishing to become actors of change. After identifying the challenges faced by social entrepreneurs, they can request assistance on different items. Those who want to lend a hand can choose to help directly, put clients in contact with a person that could help, spread the message; and/or create a workshop. The document highlights other aspects of the innovative project and shows that financial contribution is indeed not the only way to develop projects.
