Scotcash, a Community Development Finance Institution (CDFI) opened its doors in 2007 in Glasgow, United Kingdom offering microloans and access to basic bank accounts. This analysis focuses on the partnership between Scotcash and Barclays Bank in the delivery of basic bank accounts. Innovation factors such as opening a bank account on the client’s behalf without the need for them to visit a branch are seen in this document. Furthermore, it develops on how partners operate together to facilitate not only affordable loans to vulnerable people but also financial advice.
