In 1978, the first Mutual Self Managing Society (MAG) cooperative was founded in Verona. Today, there are seven MAGs in Italy. This document looks at the innovativeness of the longstanding presence of MAGs in Italy and how they operate under a local/regional concept, which is based on strong and consistent relationships that provide financial coverage to local companies that otherwise would fail to have access to credit.
