Microfinance Good Practices Europe Award 2013

The 5th edition of the Microfinance Good Practices Europe Award has been annouced by the Fondazione Giordano Dell’Amore (FGDA) and the EMN.

During the Fifth EMN Annual Conference held in Nice in September 2008, Fondazione Giordano Dell’Amore, in collaboration with the European Microfinance Network, launched the European Good Practices Microfinance Award. It aims at raising awareness about the importance of microfinance as a tool to assist the economic initiative of excluded persons in Europe and to encourage thought, in-depth analysis and sharing of European microfinance experiences that are able to combine innovation, sustainability and social impact.

The European Good Practices Microfinance Award addresses these challenges. It is open to all European institutions or organizations involved in the delivery of microfinance and related services in the European Union Member, candidate and EFTA/EEA States, for at least 12 months from the date of application. The Award is endowed with €50,000. These funds must be reinvested for the realization of new projects or towards core costs of the existing services.

We are glad to announce that the following three institutions have been short-listed to win the Microfinance Good Practices Europe Award 2013:

  • Deutsches Mikrofinanz Institut (DMI), Germany
  • Partner Microcredit Foundation, Bosnia & Herzegovina
  • Savings House "Moznosti", Republic of Macedonia
