Nice-Acropolis

Designed by the architects Buzzi, Bernasconi and Baptiste, Acropolis opened in 1984 and was inaugurated in May 1985 upon completion of the prestigious Apollon Auditorium.

Acropolis is the result of the common management of two structures: Acropolis-Congrès and Acropolis-Expositions. Acropolis-Congrès, the Convention Centre, is positioned in the market for large-scale medical, scientific and technological congresses thanks to its favourable local environment: the proximity of the Medical School and the Sophia Antipolis Science & Technology Park.

Acropolis-Congrès features four 250 to 2,500-seat auditoriums, as well as 2,600 m2 of reception areas for a total capacity of 3,000 participants in gala dinners or cocktails, 9,500 m2 modular space that can be used for exhibitions or as committee rooms and a 75-seat restaurant and bar renovated in 1999.

Acropolis-Expositions offers the possibility of hosting within a single building all events in all their features: exhibitions, trade fairs, conventions, performances, athletic events. The list is long and includes the Salon du Meuble & de la Décoration (Furniture & Decoration Trade Fair), Foire de Nice, World Figure Skating & Ice Dancing Championships, Davis Cup Centennial finals, Rotary International Convention, Indoor Supercross, the Summit of European Heads of State, the informal meeting of NATO defence ministers.

Built in 1954 and completed in 1957 with a glass façade, Acropolis-Expositions comprises a great 12,120-m2 hall that can accommodate nearly 700 stands, as well as modular areas and a 250-seat auditorium for a total surface area of 17,000 m2 on two levels.
