The University Meets Microfinance (UMM) is glad to invite you to the 9th UMM Workshop of the e-MFP Action Group “UMM". The 9th University Meets Microfinance Workshop will focus on “Financial Inclusion and Microfinance in Latin America” and will take place at Universidad de Salamanca – School of Law - on May 30th and 31st, 2013.
The Norwegian Centre for Microfinance Research will host the conference that aims to be the world's most important meeting place of academics involved in microfinance research.
The conference is a three-day event that includes plenary panel discussions and parallel sessions during which research papers will be presented and discussed. The panel discussion will include invited renowned speakers with an academic and practical background.

The EU microfinance market is of growing importance as a market segment with a potential to counter poverty and unemployment while fostering financial and social inclusion. There is a gap to be filled. The Conference will therefore focus on finding concrete innovative solutions to the challenges facing the microfinance industry in Europe, as regards to the market needs, organizational designs that support strategic innovation and growth as well as innovative funding instruments to suit the specific needs of MFIs.
