Theory and practice of microfinance in Europe
This training has been designed for professionals involved in microfinance who want to learn about the sector in Western Europe as well as for people without prior experience in microfinance and interested to better know about this sector.
This training course aims at giving a general perspective of where the Western Europe microfinance sector stands today and what needs to be done to strengthen it. The training is relevant to a range of professionals:
- Microfinance practitioners will have a unique opportunity to learn about other organisations' experiences and to challenge their own practices. A number of good practices will be presented and analysed and several management and operational tools will be provided;
- The training will help donors identify the key issues for the sector and the needs in terms of financial support and capacity building;
- Regulators will learn on typical performance indicators and benchmarks for Western Europe organisations;
- New comers in the sector will get a general idea about the way a microfinance programme can be implemented in Western Europe.
