Fondazione Pangea Onlus is a non-profit organization set up in July 2002. Our goal is to promote women empowerment and to develop the conditions which foster participation of women and their families.
We operate in partnership with local NGOs that share the same goal and approach. Our programs are focused on microfinance, microenterprises development and skill training, but also on health, literacy, promotion of human right and peace, contrast violence against women, advocacy.
Since 2002 we have worked with around 44.000 clients and over 5000 children directly, mainly in Afghanistan, India, Nepal, Rep. Dem. of Congo, South Africa and, from 2008, in Italy too. Since 2002, over 17.000 women have accessed credits in different countries.
The microcredit program started in Italy in 2010 and still need to be boosted up. It’s divided in two area, the first is for enterprises development for women who have no access to credit, and the other is dedicated to social inclusion, a program for victims of violence.
