The Fundació Privada per a la Promoció de l’Autoocupació de Catalunya, Cp’Ac, is a private and independent not-for-profit organisation. It was created in 1986, to promote self-employment in Catalonia. Cp’Ac has five offices in Catalunya: Barcelona, Girona, Terrassa, Tarragona and Lleida. Currently, it has 45 employees all together.
 
The services offered are: Management training; Information, guidance and advice on business plan development and creation of the company; Constitution of business; Accounting, tax work and employment monitoring; Processing and subsidies; Funding through microcredit.
           
The Cp’Ac foundation annually serves 1,500 entrepreneurs and helps to create 300 small businesses. Since 2007, it has granted 136 microcredits to assist people who wish to start their own businesses. The Cp’Ac foundation belongs to the Business Angels Network.
 
Its founding objectives are:
  • to support entrepreneurs who wish to start their own enterprise: The objective of the Self -Employment Service of Cp'Ac  is to give support to entrepreneurs who want to create their own company by taking advantage of some business opportunity and the beginning of an enterprise project. 
  • to support the constitution and the consolidation of new microenterprises: The objective of the Management Service of Cp'Ac  is to give support to entrepreneurs, who have already decided to create their own company, during the process of constitution of the business, and to small entrepreneurs who want to consolidate their position in the market, once the activity has been launched.
  • to spread the idea of self-employment, especially among young people: The objective of the Promotion Service of Cp'Ac  is to present self-employment as an opportunity to develop a professional career, especially among young people who are close to entering the labour market.
  • to facilitate the labour insertion of unemployed people: The objective of the Cp'Ac Employment Service is to support the unemployed in accessing the labour market and to help people to improve their current professional situation.
  • and in general, to participate in the development process of the labour market and local economic development in Spain.
The institutional structure of Cp'Ac is based on three large groups of people: the patronage, the partners and the staff. Cp'Ac is a private organisation structured as a public service, with an organisation especially adapted to the satisfaction of the particular necessities of its clients, with a quality policy in order to assure the quality of its services.
 
Since 1986, Cp'Ac has benefited from the support of various collaborating institutions that have trusted the will and the capacity of Cp'Ac, allowing the development and the consolidation of its services. Without the support of these institutions, Cp'Ac would not have been able to pursue its mission.
