Peer-to-peer Exchange Visits

Since its creation, EMN has implemented several exchange visits between its members. These exchange visits allow participants to get to know  the work of microfinance organisations all over Europe, to learn about the microcredit environment in different European countries and to exchange and disseminate good practices.

Despite a high level of satisfaction, it appears that participants coming from different backgrounds usually have different expectations from these visits. Therefore EMN has decided to additionally propose a new type of exchange visit between EMN members: the peer-to-peer exchange visit.

Aims

The peer-to-peer exchange visits provide each EMN member the opportunity to  visit another EMN member on a specific theme, in order to deepen the understanding of the work, encourage exchange of good practices and develop expertise. These bilateral exchanges, tailor-made to members’ needs and expectations, also facilitate cooperation and collaboration between EMN’s members.

How does it work?

An EMN member interested in visiting another member should contact the other member directly and see if this member is willing to welcome some of its staff. The member  should then contact EMN in order to validate the request and start organising the visit. Please use the contact form (downloadable here) at this stage.

After the visit, a report will have to be sent to EMN. This report should clearly mention the lessons learned and how the visiting organisation envisions adapting some key learning to its own organisation. The report will be made available to other EMN members and put online on the EMN website.

Read the report of the first peer-to-peer visit realised between Nantik Lum (Spain) and  Giordano dell'Amore Foundation (Italy) - download the report here.

Please contact EMN for detailed information concerning the funding of these specific visits.

These visits are exclusively intended for EMN members.
