Board of Directors

When EMN was launched in Barcelona, Spain, on 28 April 2003, the founders created a Board of Directors comprising from seven to eleven members to co-ordinate the network.

Members of the Board may be individuals, legal persons or their representatives. At least four members must be European microfinance operators, and no more than two members may be from the same European country.

Each Board member is appointed for a three-year term. However, in order to provide continuity to the Board, two members among the founders as well as two administrators elected at the first General Assembly were appointed for a three-year term in order to facilitate the work of the Board. Its members represent a range of microcredit institutions (NGOs, consultants, banks and foundations linked to banks) and specialised organisations.

The new Board of Directors was elected in June 2010 and comprises:

Besides, Maria Nowak (Adie - France) was named "Special Envoy" for EMN and Jan Evers (EVERS&JUNG - Germany) external adviser.
