Microfinance in Europe is a new and expanding sector. However, the little information that is available on its development and characteristics is usually incomplete and fails to accurately reflect its rapid evolution and growth. It is therefore important that more research be conducted to gain a better understanding of the challenges the sector faces and to promote its development.
Together with its members, EMN aims to participate in various studies and research programmes in order to promote a better understanding of microcredit in Europe.
