Dear Colleague,

As the European Microfinance Day Campaign 2023 is now in full swing, we are delighted to invite you to the campaign's Closing Event, taking place in Brussels on November 28, at Centre Culturel Arabe. On this occasion, we organized a wrap-up session to present the campaign's results and a workshop on green transition. You can find more information about the workshop's agenda & speakers below.

HOW TO SURF THE GREEN WAVE TRANSITION FOR MICRO AND SMALL ENTERPRISES, VULNERABLE GROUPS AND CONSUMERS IN EUROPE?November 28, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm CET

The European Green Deal and the subsequent EU legislative acts have set up a legislative framework to encourage and support the green transition: from banks and investment funds to large and medium companies… all found specific requirements and support mechanisms to go through their green transition (funding, reporting and disclosure, investment tools with benchmarks, standards and labels).  ❓But what about micro and small businesses (which represent 93% of the total number of businesses in the EU), vulnerable groups and more generally consumers? How can we ensure they get the support they need to finance and set up their green transition? How can we make sure that this green transition does not exclude the smallest businesses and the most vulnerable consumers?  👉This workshop will gather representatives from different sectors (MSEs, consumers, vulnerable groups, social finance providers…) to discuss the impact of the green transition legislative framework, the opportunities available for these target groups to finance and complete their green transition, and the challenges they face. With an heterogenous panel of speakers, the objective of this workshop will be to conclude the day with some recommendations for the future of the European Green deal. 🗣️ SPEAKERS
