These Terms of Use govern your use of the website of the European Microfinance Network AISBL (“EMN”, “we”, “us”), including its public pages and its members’ area. By using the website, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the website.

1. Purpose of the website

The website presents EMN, its activities, members and partners. It publishes news, events, research, policy papers, funding opportunities and vacancies. It also gives EMN members access to a restricted members’ area. The information is provided free of charge and for general information only.

2. Members’ area and accounts

  • Access to the members’ area is reserved for representatives of EMN member organisations. EMN creates or approves accounts at its discretion.
  • You must give accurate information and keep your login details confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • Tell us at once at emn@european-microfinance.org if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
  • Content in the members’ area is confidential to EMN members. You may not share it outside your organisation without EMN’s written consent.
  • EMN may suspend or close an account if these Terms are breached, if the organisation’s membership ends, or for security reasons.

3. Acceptable use

When using the website, you must not:

  • break any applicable law or infringe anyone’s rights;
  • send false, misleading, abusive or unlawful content through our forms;
  • try to access accounts, data or systems without authorisation, or disrupt the website’s operation;
  • use automated tools to collect content or personal data from the website at scale;
  • use contact details published on the website for unsolicited marketing.

4. Intellectual property

  • The website and its content (texts, publications, logos, graphics, photos, videos and design) are owned by EMN or its licensors. They are protected by intellectual property law.
  • You may view, download and print content for personal, non-commercial use, or to share it with credit to EMN and a link to the source.
  • Any other reproduction, modification or commercial use needs EMN’s prior written consent. The EMN name and logo may not be used without permission.
  • Publications by members, partners or third parties remain the property of their authors and are subject to their own terms.

5. Applications and submissions

Membership applications, funding calls, fellowship applications and job applications submitted through the website are handled under the conditions of each call or process. Submitting an application creates no obligation for EMN to accept it. You confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are authorised to provide it, including information about other people in your organisation.

6. Third-party links and content

The website links to third-party sites and embeds third-party content, such as YouTube videos, Google Maps, Mailchimp forms and Zoom events. EMN has no control over these services and is not responsible for their content or practices. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.

7. Accuracy and availability

We take care to keep the website accurate and up to date. However, we cannot guarantee that the content is complete, current or free of errors. Information on funding opportunities, calls and events may change; always check the official source. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the website without notice.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, EMN is not liable for any direct or indirect loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the website or the content it links to. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or any liability that cannot be excluded under Belgian law.

9. Personal data and cookies

We process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy and use cookies as described in our Cookie Policy.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continued use of the website after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Brussels, unless mandatory consumer protection rules give you the right to go to court elsewhere.
